Stratum v1.0.0-rc.46

Release candidate. Continues the Stratum 1.0 preview — recommended for evaluation and staging. Hold production rollouts for the stable v1.0.0 release.

Improvements

• The packet engine (firewall, NAT, gateway forwarding, anti-spoofing) now loads on older kernels, including a stock Debian 12 server's kernel 6.1. Until now the full datapath needed a newer kernel (6.8 or later), so a Debian 12 node had to upgrade its kernel before it could do packet processing; it now runs the complete engine as shipped. This has been validated end to end on both kernel 6.1 and 6.12, so everything from Debian 12 through the newest distributions is covered — and it pairs with the rc.45 installer check, which now simply passes on those servers instead of asking for a kernel upgrade.

Fixes

• BGP peering between two Stratum nodes is now stable. When two Stratum nodes opened a BGP session directly with one another, the connection could repeatedly reset — both ends dialed at the same time and neither backed down — so routes never stayed exchanged. Stratum now resolves that race the way the BGP standard prescribes, keeping a single connection up so the two nodes peer reliably and their routes hold.
